Structural Steel Fabrication Process

The structural steel fabrication process involves the use of a skilled workforce using a large range of equipment from welders to plasma torches to water jets. FEM has a facility that is 30,000 sq/ft with overhead cranes and fork trucks to ensure a smooth flow of work can be maintained.

Each job that comes through the door is examined using a technical review to ensure that the project can be completed to the correct specifications on time and on a budget. Upon an order being placed the metal fabricators will work from detailed drawings created by draughtsman to transform steel sections steel and plate into an item that can have a purpose throughout the world.

Our team of trained welders, to BS EN 287, then carry out the required welding process adhering to the relevant weld procedures and best practices. Upon completion, the final product will be inspected, and final non-destructive testing will take place where required.
